Michael Bowling, CFA, is president of Beechwood Capital Management, Inc., an investment management firm managing portfolios of stocks with a value philosophy. Since 1984 (as a high school student) Michael has managed investments professionally. Michael worked for Bowling Portfolio Management, Inc. for 14 years, then taught part time for the University of Cincinnati while in graduate school. In recent years in addition to his responsibilities at Beechwood Capital, he has taught part time for the Williams College of Business MBA program at Xavier University. His undergraduate degrees are in Finance, Real Estate, and Mathematics; and he has a masters degree in Applied Statistics and Computational Finance, all from the University of Cincinnati. In 1994 he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) from the Association for Investment Management and Research, now called the CFA Institute.Specialties: Specializes in value investing, emphasizing discounted closed-end funds when appropriate. Beechwood manages investments for individuals, IRAs, Trusts and others.
