As well as including a financial performance overview, the reports included staffing, student enrolment, sensitivity analysis and statistical insights to support strategy and decision making. • Created and presented annual finance update to 265 school Principals and 60 Business Managers to assist with school budget preparation. Presentation included explanations of complex funding models, key income updates and headwind analysis of expenditure drivers. • Led financial planning, sensitivity analysis and forecasting for new Enterprise Agreement for 35,000 staff in Catholic education in Victoria. Aided Employee Relations team with negotiations with the Independent Education Union and influenced discussions with key financial analysis. • Guided and mentored team members to successfully complete $60 million backpay project in under four weeks for 35,000 staff in Catholic education in Victoria as a result of enterprise bargaining. -

This included modelling each key profit and loss item, creating a forecast cashflow, developing a mid-term overview of the financial statements and highlighting predominant headwinds, risks and opportunities. • Created the annual financial statement (AFS) template used by all 500 Catholic schools in Victoria. Used VBA in Microsoft Excel to automate the tool to account for varying circumstances at schools. Included multiple controls to ensure accuracy and consistency of data. Consolidated data from school AFSs to complete legislated reporting to various government departments (Department of Education, Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission etc.) to secure the provision of over $2.5 billion in recurrent government grants annually. • Led the development and consolidation of the inaugural 2022 MACS group budget, totaling $2.1 billion, comprising 290 schools utilising multiple financial systems. • Designed and created the MACS school financial dashboard, in Tableau, that is used to manage schools’ financial performance. The dashboard is used by 265 schools and contains financial information, ratios and key drivers benchmarked against school segment and all primary schools in Victoria. Principals have described it as containing all information required to run a school. • Introduced half-yearly finance reports to the MACS Finance and Audit Committee and MACS Board to provide more timely financial information. Reports provided enrolment and statistical insights to support strategy and decision making. • Led the development of the School Data Snapshot and VCE Data Snapshot, comprising a series of dashboards displaying key metrics such as NAPLAN results, student retention, financial management and school culture. Provided schools with a consistent reporting suite to benchmark performance to similar schools. -
