Clinical education, training, and IDE trial site management for a venture capital backed neuromodulation technology company. • US and Europe region trainer for physician and company representative surgical education for the IDE clinical trial and commercial launch. • Developed novel training simulators and associated training strategies to decrease reliance on cadaveric labs.• Developed technical marketing and training materials for sales and clinical including demonstration kits, surgical demo models, technique guides, didactic presentations, robotic teaching aids and technique animation videos. • Created and executed novel biomechanics testing in conjunction with clinical feedback to optimize next generation product design and surgical procedure technique. • Supported commercial sales activities as a technical therapy expert, providing theoretical knowledge of the treatment as well as hands on experience with therapy delivery and outcomes. • Set up and managed training events with KOL’s, investors, and clinical investigators.

Principle product expert for the Glyder Facet Restoration System and instrumental in the European commercial launch. • Fostered and managed KOL relationships by obtaining critical feedback on market segments and product performance resulting in improved second generation implants and instrumentation. • Led comprehensive training programs, including peer to peer events and focused clinical training, for surgeons and company representatives in the US and Europe. • Developed product awareness, branding and literature such as brochures, technique guides, procedure animations, didactic presentations, and surgeon reference guides. • Constructed multilevel exams, online training, technical marketing material, interactive case studies, hands-on skills testing, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. • Managed design phase closure and transition to manufacturing for US and OUS commercial launches. • Developed the novel next generational instrumentation for two product lines, through KOL feedback and training, optimizing the surgical procedure and increasing surgeon adoption by 64% in 6 months. • Transformed the implant manufacturing process from machining to molding, developing a novel molding process for PEEK micromolding which improved performance and lowered COGS tenfold.

Responsible for strategy, marketing, research and development for a start-up company aimed at the prevention and treatment of inpatient acquired diseases in home, assisted living, and hospital environments.

A member of a professional, multi-disciplinary four person team whose mission is to identify, develop, prototype, and test advanced, novel medical devices. This new intellectual property is then focused to facilitate its further licensing and development in conjunction with University technology transfer.MDC Innovation Fellows Program Goals:* Produce the next generation of medical device entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders;* Foster interdisciplinary networks of high-level engineering and health science professionals;* Be a source of mentoring and design projects for graduate and undergraduate design classes;* Identify fundamental technology needs and technical barriers to the next generation of medical devices that will result in new research in the basic, biological, and biomedical sciences. Funding for these emerging fundamental studies will be sought from agencies such as NSF or NIH;* Develop innovative devices and new medical procedures that will contribute to improving quality of life while reducing health care costs;* Focus on more non-invasive health care, which will translate into less pain, shorter, less frequent hospital stays, and quicker recovery; and* Offer our sponsors information about developing technologies created in the program, through time spent with the fellow team as well as across to the new core labs.

Developed, managed, and executed studies (internally and in collaboration) to biomechanically assess devices for a venture capital backed spine implant company. • Analyzed data and wrote manuscripts for journal publications, textbook chapters, marketing distribution, and European market device indication expansions. • Oversaw the submission and construction of abstracts for AAOS, SAS, and NASS conferences as well as scientific marking literature. • Preliminary work on device optimization, custom surgical equipment and six sigma DOE, including animal model and cadaveric biomechanics testing. • Conducted technical device specification and surgical training for physicians involved in clinical trials. • Assisted executive management in constructing venture capital fundraising presentations and literature. • Represented DDI in contributing to ASTM standards development for nucleus replacement testing. • Collaborated with director of regulatory in writing and submitting PMA expansions and annual reports to the FDA. • Collaborated with director of clinical in planning and analyzing clinical study protocol, statistical analysis plans, and feasibility study data.
