Michael’s career has been entirely devoted to civil and insurance defense litigation, including appellate work. He has worked on cases in a wide variety of legal areas, including insurance coverage disputes, municipal liability, product liability, admiralty law, civil rights litigation, personal and commercial liability and virtually all areas of tort law.He has tried dozens of jury and bench trials to verdict in Connecticut’s federal and state courts. He has extensive appellate experience, having appeared before the Supreme and Appellate Courts of Connecticut as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Following law school, he clerked for The Honorable Edward Y. O’Connell of the Connecticut Appellate Court.Michael teaches Civil Litigation and Commercial Law as an Adjunct Professor at Western Connecticut State University. He is also commonly invited to lead various Continuing Legal Education seminars. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, where he was a member of the Dickinson Law Review. He also won the International Trial Lawyers Association’s award for Trial Advocacy.Michael is a member of the Board of Trustees at Cold Spring School, a private elementary school in New Haven.
