Supervisor/Liquor Manager
Goro + Gun
Responsible for providing guests with consistently excellent food and beverage service, maintaining an extensive knowledge of menu items and making recommendations on food and sake/wine/beer pairings on demand. Communicated constantly and efficiently with other restaurant staff such as managers, cooks, and other servers/bartenders. Adhered to AGLC regulations on liquor service and helped maintain safety of patrons and staff by maintaining AGLC ProTect certification. Maintained overall liquor and non-alcoholic stock and keep an accurate inventory of all goods. This position requires a strong ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail as the smallest mistake could lower a guest's overall experience. This position also required me to become Acting General Manager during the General Manager's absence as well as participate in the hiring process of potential employees. On multiple occasions, this position also demands quick thinking and the ability to communicate with guests from different ethnic backgrounds, religions, or lifestyles that may have dietary restrictions associated with those unique qualities and accommodating those restrictions whenever possible. In October 2015 and April 2017, myself and the assistant general manager were charged with creating a new list of cocktails for the restaurant. This included sourcing new ingredients, taste testing new liquors and creating a comprehensive, exciting, and unique cocktail experience that also payed homage to Japanese culture for customers in this busy downtown restaurant. Cocktails were crafted based on their relative simplicity, customer satisfaction projections, as well as the ability to compliment the food.
