About Michael M. Choma, Mba

After high school I attended the University of South Carolina on a golf scholarship. I transferred to Nova Southeastern University where I finished undergrad work and completed my MBA with a minor in information systems. I graduated with honors and was an Academic All-American in golf. Competing in golf has helped me throughout my career as a leader and individual contributor. While finishing my MBA, I worked at a golf course and had the idea to start a destination magazine showcasing local golf courses, resorts, restaurants, real estate, and entertainment venues. I eventually sold my business 3 years later to Frey Media where I worked for 13 years, expanding the publication to 25 markets in North America. When Frey Media lost its financing, I orchestrated the sale of the website to NBC/Universal, which owns the Golf Channel. Next, I joined global event powerhouse Reed Exhibitions to spearhead portfolio, event and digital sales, for the PGA Show, the largest B2B event in the golf industry showcasing 1K exhibitors and 40K attendees. After success at Reed, I was recruited by Digiday Media to lead growth and inside sales. I was soon promoted to publisher and oversaw the entire global commercial business.Honest, with a steadfast work ethic, I am the proud recipient of Digiday 2019 Rookie of the Year and the 2020 Leader of the Year award honoree as well. Some of the additional results I’ve generated throughout my career include:Developing the Retail Shop of the Future in conjunction with PepsiCo at the 2018 PGA Show. I created a B2C newsletter to connect exhibitors directly with 800K consumers to drive revenue outside of the traditional event for Reed Exhibitions.Courageous and conscientious, with an entrepreneurial spirit, I apply a consultative approach to negotiating and closing deals. I look forward to showcasing my solution-oriented approach to leadership and sales in my next professional endeavor for a forward-thinking organization.

Listed skills include Sales, Business Development, Sales Management, Marketing, and 46 others.
