In February of 2011, I joined the VOCON team as a Project Architect. Responsibilities include participating in all aspects of the design process preparing complete and comprehensive design concepts, architectural construction drawings and specifications and coordinate the documents with project consultants and contractors.I take pride in establishing meaningful working relationships with my clients so that I understand their organization and/or business and can align their physical environment with their corporate culture and business strategy. I enjoy working with clients collaboratively to ensure each project not only accomplishes the aesthetic goals, but also the business goals of the project.

Started in Tokyo, Japan in 2003, this design event was conceived as a place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. Raseem Parker and I co-organize a minimum of four of these events a year at various locations throughout the City of Cleveland.Realizing that if you give a mic to a designer (especially an architect) you'll be trapped for hours, PechaKucha Night was set up to avoid that fate. Each presenter is allowed to show 20 images, each image is shown for 20 seconds - giving each presenter 6 minutes and 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. Mid-2008, Raseem Parker and I wrote a proposal to add Cleveland to the list of over 160 cities hosting PKN Nights globally.Since founding PechaKucha in 2008, we have held over 20 events which see audiences of between 500-1500 people at each event.

In 2006, Bradley Fink and I started an international, open, ideas-based design competition founded to generate architectural designs for Cleveland's underutilized or high profiles sites. Each year designers from around the world study Cleveland's overlooked urban amenities and propose architecture, landscape architecture and urban design solutions. In its first and second years combined, the competition saw over 200 teams register for almost $10,000 in award prizes (both years the Awards Sponsor was the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy). The Cleveland Design Competition was co-founded and is organized each year by Bradley Fink and myself with advisory/organizing support from Steve Rugare of Kent State University and Greg Peckham of Cleveland Public Art.
