I was elected to the Dunsmuir City Council in 2022. In December 2023 I was appointed Mayor. As the Mayor of Dunsmuir of California I constantly work with constituents, businesses, city staff, and other stakeholders. I am a member of the City of Dunsmuir’s Finance Committee including as the chair of the committee in 2023. The finance committee is responsible for working with the city manager and finance director to develop the city budget, perform regular budget reviews, OPEX and CAPEX analysis, departmental P&L analysis, develop financial strategies to achieve the cities long term goals, and perform public outreach to educate the citizens.Community Relations: Develop strong relationships with citizens, business owners, other government agencies, and NGOs. I have been the City Council representative to the Chamber of Commerce since December of 2021. Stakeholder Engagement: Work with community stakeholders to address their needs, communicate city policies, and assist with regulatory issues. Policy Development: Implement key policies and initiatives do address important issues such as economic development, housing, infrastructure improvement, and financial resiliency. Committee Participation: Serve on various city committees such as the Snow Removal Policy committee and the Finance Committee. Legislative Management: Work with city staff to develop agendas and lead meetings.Budget Management: Oversee the city’s budget, including revenue forecasting, expenditure planning, and fiscal policy Financial Oversight: Collaborate with city staff to review and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring transparency and accountability in fiscal management. Policy Review: Assess and recommend financial policies and procedures to ensure financial resiliency.

I currently serve as the Siskiyou County Representative for Private Industry on the Workforce Development Board for the Northern Rural Training and Employment Consortium (NoRTEC). NoRTEC provides oversight, guidance and direction for employment-based service providers that receive State and Federal funds across eleven California counties. The Workforce Development Board oversees millions of dollars’ worth of annual funding using data driven metrics to ensure that the funding is allocated appropriately. Policy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive regional strategies to meet the education and job training needs of the workforce. Financial Oversight: Collaborate with city staff to review and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring transparency and accountability in fiscal management. Service Provider Oversight: Select service providers and use defined metrics to perform detailed data analysis to ensure state and federal mandates are met.

Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals, enhancing workforce effectiveness, and promoting a positive company culture. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, ensure all policies and company decisions minimize risk and safeguard company interests. Risk Management: Ensure proper employee safety training and conduct regular safety reviews. Employee Acquisition: Oversee the recruitment process, including workforce planning, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding. Employee Relations: Address employee concerns and conflict resolution, fostering a positive work environment and promoting effective communication.

Trained the new Learning Center Director on departmental operations, ran the educational school program and oversaw office operations.
