Representing Enterprise Services within the recently separated Private and Business Bank and Institutional Banking and Markets, I led a team of talented individuals to deliver large scale technology initiatives and manage the business/ technology relationship. Recent initiatives have included designing and building the largest bespoke trading floor in the southern hemisphere at Darling Harbour, with a seamless transition from current equities operations. We have also delivered the current generation CommSec platform, and re-architecting the entire Commonwealth Bank Payments network to state of the art communications technology.

I worked as Program Director on a number of parallel running large scale Technology initiatives within the Commonwealth bank, including data centre build and relocation. On the data centre relocation project, I led a virtual team across multiple business units, technical domains and vendor partners of up to 300 people at the height of the project. This project was completed successfully and recieved a CEO award from Ralph Norris.

My first role in Australia built on skills developed in the middle east, and I successfully undertook a number of technical projects. Having successfully delivered a Peoplesoft CRM solution, I moved into the infrastructure domain and had an opportunity to build experience there. I managed the build and implementation of a new SOE, and also the replacement of some core enterprise servers.

Alinta bought the retail branch of United Energy, called Pulse Energy in 2002, and a program of work was created to integrate Pulse and disaggregate the distribution business of UE. I led the technology streams of this program, both application and infrastructure.

Chosen for this role in the Middle East to assist our regional manager in the area to expand operations in Bahrain, it was a fascinating learning experience in terms of culture and operating methods in the Middle East. I had various roles including a CRM callcentre build (Peoplesoft) and Information Security Strategy development for the Bahraini Government. Being such a small office, everyone pitched in to support tenders, business development, project management etc. and I developed quite a few skills as a result.
