At Scout, I developed a mapping component that I embedded into Scouts existing software in several places. I used Google Maps JavaScript API to build and manipulate maps that created optimized routes, tracked, stored and displayed user movement, displayed wells with downtime, alerted users to illegitimate values, overlaid shape-files, and were controlled by a host of custom devices. At this internship, I gained valuable experience in Coffeescript, JavaScript, Node JS, Google Maps JS API, Mapbox JS, Redis, Handlebars, Postgres, CSS, HTML, jQuery, and Backbone JS. At ScoutGroup, I improved my knowledge and skills in web development and programming as a whole. Working at a startup gave me valuable insight to a growing companies excitements and tribulations and equipped me with more real world experience.

I have worked at Ellucian for two consecutive summers. My first summer was spent developing a RESTful web service that connected the active directory of an identity server with a database embedded inside an Ellucian application. By doing so I gained experience with preparing, developing and presenting integration specifications, utilizing java web services, and supporting SSO protocol while working closely with team members, consultants, and employees from all levels of the company. I spent my second summer developing Grails web applications, learning GIT and subversion, HTML coding and developing software to replace batch files. My time at Ellucian has given me the experience to confidently say I can work well in a modern work environment and add to a company by being a useful, hard-working employee.
