Michael started his professional work in education, development, communications and gender equality as Community Development Facilitator of Plan International. In the past, he focuses on child sponsorship - linking the sponsored children and sponsors. Managing the retention of the latter through quality, timely and content worthy communications.He has also worked on designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating sustainable child centered community interventions and programs supported and funded by foreign donors and the NGOs. Michael also led the Influencing and Advocacy works of Safer Cities for Girls — a gender transformative programme of Plan International in the Province of Masbate.He has a rich background on research, youth engagement, and gender and development. He is also keen to community organizing and legal and voters education as he chaired the Advocacy and Research Committee of the Bicol University, and Legal Network for Truthful Elections in the region.Michael received his Political Science degree from Bicol University and earned units on Secondary Education and Professional Teaching from Southern Bicol Colleges. Subsequently, he took up his Master of Arts in Education Major in Leadership and Supervision from the Osmeña Colleges.He is a Philippine Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Licensed Professional Teacher and a Career Service Professional and Honor Graduate Eligible of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).In the recent past, Michael took on the role of Academic Affairs Officer of Southern Bicol Colleges leading the programme development, strategic setting and direction of the institution's academic framework. He is also the former sponsorship officer of Plan International and one of the 10 young staff selected to represent the organization in the Women Deliver Conference 2019 in Vancouver, Canada and Global Leadership Conference in Whistler, British Columbia.His recent role is a Consultant of an International Non-profit Organization focusing on Youth Engagement, securing Children and Young People's meaningful participation in the national and global campaigns and advocacies.
