The genesis of my financial journey traces back to a quiet Saturday at home, where my mother handed me $15 to buy a book at the Brown University bookstore. Little did I know then, the purchase would shape my future. This book, penned by Peter Lynch, a giant in the realm of value investing and manager of the Fidelity Magellan Fund, unraveled the enigmatic world of Wall Street to me. While I initially grappled with the concepts, Lynch's insights resonated with me, and have been the guiding force in my investment strategy over the past three decades.My early forays into the world of finance were made during college, fueled by the savings from a part-time job. With an Ameritrade account as my arsenal, I dove headfirst into equity and equity options trading. As I immersed myself in finance classes, I tried to leverage the theoretical models to uncover promising investments, only to discover a chasm between the academic predictions and actual market prices. This discrepancy sparked my quest for a deeper comprehension of global financial dynamics.In my stint at UBS, I broadened the scope of my Wealth Management practice by pivoting towards investment strategy. As I continued to foster relationships and extend my services to family offices, financial institutions, foundations, endowments, and public and private pensions, my understanding of wealth management deepened.Post-UBS, I joined forces with a few partners in 2006 to establish Alexander Alternative Capital and charted a global macro strategy. One of our disciplined directional bets was against the sub-prime mortgage market, which lasted from April 2006 till January 2009.With a specialty in wealth management and complex retirement planning issues, I excel in areas ranging from wealth-building strategies to wealth transfer.
