Being a successful software developer is easy; you simply need to love doing it.I love spending days in a coding-trance working on a problem. I also love building teams around ideas and leading them from the front. I've been doing this from an early age, and I've tried to structure my career around interesting projects that bring something new to the world. I like getting prototypes up quickly to allow other parts of a business to move forward with results while I continue to iterate them through the next logical stages of development. My experience with all sizes of projects has given me a sense of how many or how few processes and procedures are appropriate at every stage of a product's lifecycle, and my direct and very hands on technical approach helps me effectively manage developers via a genuine shared understanding. I am open and honest with outside groups about the entire development process, and will always tell you what exactly what you need to hear in the most constructive way possible.I've helped several startups (including my own) bring their seeds of ideas into fully fledged products and have the battle-scars to prove it. I'm very comfortable with and interested in security and applied cryptography, having recently worked full-time for several years as a lead developer and community leader on the open-source GRIN blockchain, funded entirely by the community. My previous experience has been wide and varied, ranging from cryptography, identity management, finance, education and eLearning, and game / game technology development. I continue to run a successful eLearning service called 'Shakespeare In Bits' on a part-time basis. Rust is my current favourite language, and I'd happily spend a long time telling you why! But your language is good too. We're all in this together.
