PBMR Process Heat Plant Project Manager of an international project with a annual budget of R30m. The Project Objective is to evaluate and pursue Business and Market Opportunities for the PBMR nuclear technology outside of the traditional electricity market. These opportunities include steam generation, Steam Methane Reforming, Hydrogen Production, District Heating, Desalination and other high temperature applications. This position reports directly to a PBMR Executive Committee Member.PBMR Project Manager within the Westinghouse Electric Company (US Based) led consortium, which was awarded a contract on the US NGNP project by the US Department of Energy. Project responsibilities include budget allocation, management and reporting. The definition, procurement and management of scope of services. The establishment and management of division of responsibility matrixes between international stakeholders. Production of pricing proposals, technology development plans and project stakeholder interactions. Responsible for plant level systems integration of the Nuclear Heat Source, across multiple disciplines, as well as the definition of technical and project requirements of various PBMR process heat plant projects.Liaison with international companies and stakeholders in the US, Canada and South Africa.Ensuring adequate Intellectual Property protection is in place between consortium parties and between projects.

Headed a department of thirteen personnel responsible for PBMR Thermo-hydraulic analyses using software tools such as Flownex, EES and Matlab. This department performed system modeling and evaluation, safety and accident analysis, controller development and evaluation, model and calculation verification and validation as well as stochastic analysis of all PBMR Demonstration Power plant systems. Responsibilities included the establishment of training requirements for the department, performance management, budget allocation, establishment of processes and procedures. Served on the PBMR Work Place Forum during 2004 until 2006.

Responsibilities included Engineering Simulator development, development of computer and software models for the PBMR Main Power System and Main Support Systems. Played a lead role in developing the system requirements for the PBMR Main Power Systems and Main Support Systems. Developed and evaluated control algorithms. Was elected to serve on the PBMR Technical Configuration Control Board to evaluate, manage, control and implement Engineering Change Proposals.
