Unsatisfied with the standard Jewish-themed greeting cards available, I decided to create personalized versions using illustrations, culled primarily from archival Yiddish and Hebrew children’s books, found in various online digitized collections. The attached examples represent a variety of designs used for birthday and anniversary cards, Bar Mitzvah invitations, Purim gifts (“Mishloach Manot”), book covers, and benchers (“Birkat Ha-Mazon” booklets).

Currently translating Yiddish postcards written by members of the Wolk family in the years around their immigration to Boston (c. 1904) and a variety of Yiddish documents from the 1930’s found in the archives of the Boston branch of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS).
