Michael fulfilled a principal role in the LLU programme acting both as the lead end-to-end architect as well as acting as the Technical Design Authority for the entire programme. The primary aspects of the role are presented below:- Development, communication and promotion of an E2E logical architecture capable of being realised in an incremental fashion in line with the business priorities, industry best practices and leveraging model driven architecture (MDA) techniques.- Development of a Business Capability model required to identify, describe and prioritise the business capabilities required to transition AOL UK into a fully fledged Telecommunications operator. This was developed using a UML Use Case based modelling technique.- Development of a hybrid solution development methodology capable of encompassing and providing a transition from the strategic level to practical implementation level whilst maintaining traceability and priorities. This leveraged an Enterprise Unified Process approach at the strategic level whilst Agile techniques were at the practical implementation level.- Lead and coordinate a team of ten Enterprise / Solution Architects and several business/systems analysts.- Technical Design Authority for the design, implementation, integration, deployment and operation of the AOL UK Core and Backhaul Networks which consisted of fully redundant DWDM based 10 Gigabit backbone- Extensive liaison and integration with third parties including British Telecom, Ofcom and programme auditors.
