Medical Device Engineer
Our company aims to take our needle free vaccine delivery device to clinical trials, with a 3 year series A $15m funding. My particular focuses are:- Research and development of the Nanopatch device (as a functional product) and the technical performance surrounding it.- Designing and manufacturing key research devices for investigational use, and for clinical trial use.- Project planning and management- Developing documentation systems to ensure traceability of work streams.
Research Officer/Submitted Phd - Biomedical Engineer
Following PhD submission I transitioned to a research position in the Kendall lab (Delivery of Drugs and Genes Group), AIBN, UQ. This role involves continued development of the Nanopatch skin vaccination device. My role is in translation of this medical device towards clinical trials utilising engineering techniques. Specifically this applies skin biomechanics and engineering biomaterial knowledge.
Stress Engineer
Working as a stress engineer assessing engineering designs on aircraft designs. This included empirical engineering methods, together with compliance and design standard assessment. During this time I completed an Advanced Stress Course for structural analysis in an industrial arena.
Final Year Research Project
To complete my MEng (Euro) I undertook a research project on engineering calibration in Turin, Italy. This involved experimental and numerical analysis, expanding my structural and engineering knowledge. Being in Italy also afforded me the opportunity to learn another language.
