Mike is a serial entrepreneur who has used his expertise in engineering and economics for more than 40 years to stimulate development of new aerospace, energy, and transportation technologies. Since September 2020, Mike has led RockeTruck, which is developing advanced zero-emission power systems for mobile electric generators and to power large transportation systems including trucks, buses, rail vehicles, and marine vessels. From 2010 to early 2020, Mike was President & CEO of TransPower, a manufacturer of electric drive systems and components for large commercial vehicles which was acquired by Meritor and subsequently became part of Cummins when Cummins acquired Meritor in 2022.Immediately before founding TransPower, Mike was Director of Commercial Business Development at General Atomics - Electromagnetic Systems Division, where from 2006-10 he helped develop and promote magnetic levitation (maglev), linear motor, and power converter technologies for electric transportation and renewable energy applicationsFrom 1995-2005, Mike was Co-CEO of ISE Corporation, an electric and hybrid vehicle technology company he co-founded. Mike was a catalyst for development of ISE's most innovative and successful products, including its gasoline and fuel cell hybrid drive systems for large transit buses.From 1982 to 1993, Mike was an engineer and program manager at General Dynamics Space Systems Division, where he managed NASA advanced spacecraft studies and helped create the Commercial Atlas launch vehicle program. In 1981-82, Mike worked at NASA Headquarters, where he participated in early planning for NASA's Space Station program.While a student at Stanford from 1976 to 1981, Mike worked as a research assistant on NASA's Summer Study on Space Resources and Space Settlements (1977), taught a course on Space Colonization (1978-79) and founded and led the Stanford Center for Space Development (1978-81).
