Landmark is a supplier of agribusiness products and services, operating from more than 400 outlets located throughout Australia. In 2004 Landmark was acquired by and became a separate trading division of AWB Ltd. In this position I held responsibility for total operations of the region including strategy development and implementation, staff leadership, key account relationship management and budgetary control. The operations comprised 54 wholly owned corporate stores, eight franchises, 440 staff and a fleet of 210 vehicles and spanned the sale of merchandise, fertiliser, livestock, wool, real estate, finance and insurance products and services.

Eastern Victoria & Riverina

In this role I managed a network with 206 staff and 30 profit centres, driving business development and growth and analysed, managed and reported on capital usage, marketing, sales performance, stock levels, sales margins, products and services. • Won the Network of the Year Award for 2003 / 2004 for Wesfarmers Landmark (best of nine nationally). • The 2003 staff survey revealed that the Eastern Victorian Network had the highest employment engagement nationally covering core areas such as job satisfaction, motivation, commitment and advocacy.

Southern Region

I drove the development and growth of wool, real estate, and financial services throughout Victoria, South Australia & Southern NSW. I worked closely with the network to align the strategic direction to operational requirements. A key function of this role was to lift awareness and acceptance by Ilama locations to embrace revenue streams of financial services, real estate and wool within the acquired Ilama network.

After initially commencing as a Branch Manager in Hamilton, I became Area Manager for Western Victoria before being appointed as the Network Manager of Eastern Victoria responsible for 19 profit centres and 147 staff.

The region is known for fine wool, cattle and viticulture. I managed a nine member branch offering a full agency and rural supplies service whilst being directly involved in the sale, purchase and forward contracting of livestock, real estate sales, listings, inspections and auctions.

Coonamble, Vic

Coonamble is a cropping and cattle area. As Branch Manager I successfully re-established the branch profitability after major client losses caused by a significant number of foreclosures which had been caused by the 1989 collapse of the wool market. I was able to rebuild customer relationships to the point that after 15 months the branch returned to the top 10% profit earners in NSW. Due to this success I was transferred to Mudgee after the departure of key staff.
