I worked as a Nuclear Professional for 12 months as part of a Queen's University Internship Program (QUIP) work experience. During this time I prepared engineering design changes, such as a Non-Identical Component Replacement (NICR) for solenoid valves on the uranium fueling machine trolley. I also gained project management skills by supporting the Senior Work Management Team and Chief Nuclear Officer in Darlington Nuclear Generating Station's preparation for three multi-million dollar unit outages. To support my team, also I created three work management tools and dashboards using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI.

I worked with a small team to teach Grade 5-11 students about STEM principles at their local schools, at community centers, and at Queen's University. I was able to work with various stakeholder audiences, including students, teachers, and members of the community. I expanded on my communication skills by instructing teacher candidates on how to use technology resources in the classroom. I also took initiative by overhauling the student workbook handouts to improve their written and visual communication performance.
