Cut short due to Covid19 impact and the programme being put on hold

Responsible for Planning and managing work activities of two Java software development/test teams (Web journey for applications of loans and current accounts) working closely in conjunction with business teams. The new customer journeys were streamlined and converted to a purely digital experience with real time fraud checks and also digital signatures of documents, as part of the new journey. The process also used faster payment technology with typical timescales of 90 minutes for funds being available in a customers account. • Conducted Scrum Daily standup, Product backlog, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review & Sprint Retrospective meetings.• Determined the team capacity (velocity) from historical data. Created Work Break down structure (user stories) and corresponding activities (tasks).• Monitored the project progress and radiated the information to stake holders. Identified and mitigated team risks and impediments (Blocking Issues, Critical Defects) on daily basis.• Worked with Senior Management, Business & Release Management to understand the vision of the product, prioritize and develop software release planning.• Communicated the progress to senior management thru 'Burndown Charts'. Monitored the Quality thru metrics and mentored team thru the project management processes.• Use of Jira/Confluence for sprint/backlog tracking• Use of Jenkins and AWS Cloud Automation tools (Packer, Troposphere) for automated deployments – increasing consistency and frequency of deployments.

• Introduced Scrum Framework within the company after being asked to review Project Delivery methodology that was consistently failing to meet customer deliverables and expectations. Established new self-organizing Scrum teams by training on agile fundamentals and coaching teams for sustaining changes introduced. Implemented agile process for re-platform and re-hosting data projects by training teams to use Jira for user stories and issue tracking. Involved in web-streaming, IT network projects as they moved to Cloud based infrastructure and virtualisation.• Responsible for the roadmap to deliver virtualised and cloud offering of IT and playout systems that operate on a 24 x 7 basis. Current facility was approaching building power supply limit and so the requirement was to reduce current load whilst maximising sales opportunities. Covering over 40 channels on main UK broadcast platforms (SKY and Freeview), the role involved working with Amazon AWS to set up Organisational, Security zoning and Identity Access Management (IAM).

Provided overall management and support for concurrent projects across multiple products within the UK Core Voice and Data division, focusing on the new Long-Term Evolution (LTE) platform. Served as a conduit between customers, management and the development teams. Applied best practices to ensure projects run consistently, risks were communicated and financial discipline maintained. Work with Head of Development to define and plan new projects and roll out group wide initiatives. Virgin TV Anywhere Phase II:• Responsible for the whole E2E piece with a programme budget set at £6.5 million.Virgin TV Anywhere (Launched in Nov 2012, currently serving 500k customers and has 72 live channels):• Took a lead role in successful contractual discussions with the third parties.• Provided leadership to both the Project Management and Engineering teams.TiVo (Launched in 2011, currently 1.9m TiVo STB on the platform):• Managed the selection and implementation of TiVo as Virgin Media’s new TV platform partner. Virgin Media Next Generation TV (NGTV) (Launched in 2010)• Lead Project Manager for TV Networks, responsible for £11m of £30m project budget.

• Principal Development Engineer for the Digital TV Engineering division of NTL. • Responsible for the upgrade, expansion and specification of equipment.• Delivered new products on the digital television platform. • Managed the two year roll out of Video on Demand (VOD) across 38 regional head-ends/hub-sites.Key Achievements: Video on Demand (VOD)• This project was delivered 6 months ahead of schedule.• Delivered an innovative product that was not provided by any other UK broadcaster at the time. • The VOD system currently logs 1 billion views per year and is the largest in Europe.

• Member of the Broadcast & Infrastructure team following completion of the 2-year graduate scheme. • Main responsibility was for BBC Sport and Outside Broadcasting.• Designed and installed temporary broadcasting facilities for international events.Key Achievements: Manchester Commonwealth Games• Project Manager for BBC Interactive (BBCi) and a key member of the BBC Sport team. • Managed funds of £400K and had a team of nine personnel.
