Michael began his experience in construction at the age of 14 working alongside tradesmen who were friends of his father. Always interested in how things were put together he excelled in the general construction related fields while finding his place in the world during high school. Michael even joined a steam locomotive restoration project at 15 and was taught by the National Park Service how to work with oxy-acetylene torches, welders, perform hot riveting and work with his hands in other heavy construction processes.In 2001 Michael woke up, swung his legs out of bed and landed in a giant puddle on the floor. It was determined that the CMU foundation had failed during a storm and water had entered overnight. Michael was intrigued by the entire process from theory and diagnosis to the actual installation of a drainage system that would completely solve the issue. During the entire process he watched the installation crew and, after many following storms, he and his dry feet were amazed.Shortly after Michael decided that he wanted to be part of that process to help other people with the same issues, somewhere that he could blend his love of diagnosing a complex issue and construction together. In 2001 Michael began working for a company where he would not only find great success helping others but also rise to the position of general manager and grow the business ten-fold. Implementing new processes and services made the company he worked at a “full service one stop shop”. To provide the highest level of service he obtained specialty certifications in waterproofing, below grade egress and microbial remediation. He also led the company with product and process development implementing programs such as polyurethane injections, epoxy foundation repairs, spray foundation waterproofing, above grade air barriers and a service program to ensure post-installation care to our growing family of customers. His constant lookout for new and improved systems kept them on the leading edge offering the best products and services. Previously an EMT and Captain in the fire service Michael is a resourceful and innovative leader with over 22 years of experience coordinating staff and operations in high pressure situations for private, government and volunteer sectors of service. As a husband and father of two daughters, when he is not helping others he enjoys spending time with his family, working on new carpentry projects, listening to podcasts or checking off items on the neverending “to-do list” around the home.
