In the Department of Biological Sciences I taught Genetics Lecture, Introductory Microbiology, Organic Evolution, and the General Biology I and Microbiology Labs.

Research in population genetics: DNA extraction, PCR, and mtDNA sequencing. qPCR, genotyping, and analysis with both gel-based and capillary electrophoresis systems. Responsible for ordering lab supplies, keeping equipment and chemical inventories. Responsible for helping to train undergraduate researchers and laboratory technicians. Regular reports on research progress and laboratory management made to supervisor.

Provided instruction and a positive learning environment for students taking Introductory Microbiology (Nursing and Dental Hygiene programs). I truly enjoyed introducing students to the science of Microbiology and how it enriches our lives. In addition to lecture I prepare and run the laboratory section of the class.
