Government Account ManagerGrainger Jun 2017 - PresentLake Forest, Illinois, UsI joined Grainger in 2017 to repair the Grainger relationships with both Purdue and Indiana University-Bloomington accounts. Grainger had developed poor relationships with all levels of both Universities because of serious issues with the previous account manager.My primary responsibility is to set strategic sales direction for each university. Also responsible for all sales calls, quotes, handling customer service issues to every level of these universities. In addition I conduct quarterly sales reviews with University Procurement Departments.At the end of 2017 sales with Purdue had declined 19% and 13% with Indiana University. The territory experienced an overall sales decline of 9%In 2018, sales with Indiana University - Bloomington increased 23%, IUPUI increased 20% and Purdue increased 5%. The overall territory had a sales increase of 13% and finished 103% of sales goal. In 2019 the territory was performing at 130% of goal when I was moved to the State of Indiana accounts for a joint QPA in July 2019.For the remainder of 2019, the new territory performed at 140% of goal. In 2020 H1, the territory performed at 160% of goal. Grainger suspended goal measurement for the 2020 H2, but the territory grew 40% in sales volume.In 2021H1 the territory performed at 101% of goal, even though state accounts reduced spending by 15% when compared to 2020H1. The reason for this sales growth was increased sales emphasis at AMTRAK, Butler University, and City of Indianapolis accounts. -

Profits increased over 100%. I was awarded 2014 CDI "Saleman of the Year" and was co-winner of the "2014 CDI Employee of the Year". I exceeded my sales goal by over 20%

Products sold include industrial cylinder gas (O2, HE, AR, Acetylene, and CO2), liquid cryogenic bulk supply tanks(Nitrogen, O2, CO2, Argon, Helium, and Hydrogen), welding supplies and hardgoods, safety equipment, and MRO equipment. Selling Airgas products to Construction, Manufacturing, Tool and Die, Heat Treating, Food, Fabrication Companies and Municipalities.The Rockford - Stateline territory was the worst performing territory for Airgas NOC when I started. Two months after I started working in this territory, the territory lost its largest customer. This customer provided 33% of territory sales and profits. The customer switched to a minority concern competitor to meet government and customer requirements. Since then sales and profits have grown enough to make it a very profitable territory for Airgas.In YTD fiscal year 2013 my territory sales and profits have grown over 40%. I have opened three new bulk and one microbulk account, switched four large gas cylinder accounts to Airgas, and have placed 3 vending machines in customer locations.For fiscal year 2012 territory gross margin finished at 100% of quota.. Territory sales doubled in fiscal year 2012. I helped switch two large customers to a VMI contact with Airgas, even though those customers were located in other states and none of these purchases were to be shipped into my territory. I switched a large cryogenic gas user from the competition to Airgas. -
