About Michael Bequette
My journey as a strength and conditioning coach began five years ago as a personal trainer. After serving in the US Navy and seeing first-hand the importance of physical and mental readiness on operational success, I wanted to extend that knowledge onto others for their betterment. Down that road, I took more of an interest in working with athletes at all levels and became more focused in strength and conditioning. In my short time in this industry, I have gone from interning at DI football programs to working with professional athletes in NFL, WNBA, and NBA.I believe in optimizing sport movements and performance while decreasing risk of injury. This extends to my programming of ensuring that proper technique and movement patterns are used. I take pride in my ability to program and coach athletes utilizing training methods such as triphasic, velocity-based, conjugate method. My expertise is in speed training: acceleration, change of direction, top end speed and deceleration. I regularly collaborate with medical staff and our physical therapists on my program efficiency as well as short- and long-term rehabilitation and return to play.I am detail-oriented and focused on doing the little things right. My coaching style is rooted on the belief that no two athletes are alike and training should be geared towards meeting their respective sport needs and goals. I regularly seek opportunities to further my knowledge in strength and conditioning so to better equip myself to help athletes succeed. I am dedicated to my athletes personal and professional because better people make better players.
