I am currently one of the two non-voting United States Senators from the District of Columbia. I have spent 40 years in national and local politics as a staff person, independent consultant and elected official. I have run for public office 6 times and been elected 4 times. The last time I was elected I received 84% of the vote citywide. Ending "taxation without representation" in DC is what I work for every day. My job is to secure equal rights for the 700,000 hard-working, tax-paying Americans who live in our nation’s capital and have no voice because they have no vote. I have lived in the District of Columbia for more than 30 years and I also currently host a weekly call-in internet radio show 'SHADOW POLITICS' every Sunday at 7 pm EST on the BBS Radio network. The show has been on the air for more than six years and has an audience of 10,000 regular listeners. In addition, I have years of volunteer experience working with political candidates, homelessness, veterans and as an advocate on many local transportation and development issues.
