My intellectual property (IP) law practice focuses on patent application drafting, patent prosecution, trademark registration, trademark prosecution, IP opinions, IP licensing agreements, IP due diligence, and client counseling on patent and trademark portfolios and other intellectual property matters, for start-ups and corporations based in the U.S. and abroad. My work gives me the opportunity to develop strategies that protect innovations for emerging and established companies with patents, negotiate IP purchase and licensing agreements, conduct due diligence on patent portfolios, and provide clearance/non-infringement and validity opinions. I get to work closely with in-house counsel and other company decision makers, to develop and manage patent portfolios that support business goals. My patent prosecution work has included a variety of inventions, including mechanical devices, medical devices, mobile device applications and technologies, semiconductors, manufacturing systems, consumer products, geolocation and GPS-based navigation systems, and computer networks. My trademark law practice involves counseling clients on trademark registrations, conducting clearance searches, and protecting my clients' critical brands.
