About Michael Roper
Michael produces and directs linear and interactive media for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His work includes social and in-gallery media, commercials, media walls, and multimedia installations. He’s created media for museums across the country and has received five MUSE Awards, Best of Show at MacWorld Expo and Geneva Telecom, and a Silver Medal from the New York International Multimedia Festival. His behind-the-scenes portrait of MFA curator Erica Hirshler was a 2024 Webby Honoree. He holds a BA in the History of Ideas from Pitzer College and a MS in Visual Studies from MIT.Throughout his career, Michael has created new kinds of media, including the interactive documentary at MIT’s Athena Language Learning Project, multiscreen capture and display at the Apple Multimedia Lab, and one of the first interactive television series on the internet, Star Festival, for Botticelli Interactive.
