Over 2+ years, collective contributions in marketing + distribution strategy secured Drizly’s position as the leader in the category, evidenced by the industry’s best balance sheet, an exclusive strategic partnership with the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, and partnerships with the top retail alcohol chains in North America. These were essential, foundational pieces powering Drizly’s $1.1b sale to Uber in 2021.• Created the "Drizly bear" brand identity.• First marketing hire, recruited to seize first-mover advantage attacking a $100 billion opportunity for on-demand, e-commerce in off-premise retail beverage alcohol sales; and to position Drizly as the industry standard solution (technology, marketing and data services) for connecting supply and demand through e-commerce.• Formed go-to-market strategy and built full-range of marketing capabilities including consumer acquisition, CRM, search, content marketing, social media, branding, PR/communications, marketing analytics and business development. Ultimately responsible for 12 marketing reports.• Developed the owned/earned/paid media strategy that led to the successful penetration of 20 major US markets, and positioned Drizly as a top-100 food-and-beverage iOS app (peaking at #4), both of which were instrumental in raising >$15mm in seed and Series A funding from venture capital and industry sources. • Diversified direct-to-consumer revenue streams through partnership and new product strategies, with strategic partnerships like Food & Wine Magazine and eBay becoming among the top monthly sources of new users, and new products contributing incremental ~20% to monthly demand.
