Uncertain of my career plans, I changed from being a full-time college student, to a part-time one, and went to work as a factory worker. In 11 years, I rose from that beginning to being a salesman, then sales manager, and then Vice-President , in charge of Marketing and Sales for that company, while completing my Bachelor and Masters degrees at night school. My company, the second largest manufacturer of acrylic and thermosetting sheeting in the U.S. , which had grown from 35 to 450 employees, was sold to Boise Cascade Corporation. During that transition, I volunteered at night as a young clinician, at the Rockland County Mental Health Clinic in Monsey, N.Y. I then made the decision, at age 30, to pursue my different career as a psychologist and left for studies in North Carolina.
