Hired as a Consultant in 2009, I quickly became the Manager of one of our Development Teams. In this role I managed a team of developers spread across the DC Metro area. I led daily standups, coordinating the work of offshore resources as well as vendors performing custom solutions. Our team successfully completed a project to launch a powerful new platform for distribution of local and national content, transforming the pbs.org website into a true national/local hybrid with the first major infrastructure changes since it first launched in 1995. The project was a full Django stack backed by a MySQL database and built in an Amazon EC2 environment.-At PBS Kids I managed the effort to develop the PBS Kids Video Player for the iPad.-At CARFAX I led the technical initiatives to build both the iOS and Android "CARFAX for Dealers" apps. Building these apps required mastering barcode scanning technologies as well as building a standard process for developing, distributing, testing and deploying apps to the App Store and Google Market.

I spent almost 5 years as a Senior Software Engineer involved in all aspects of the development work for Alabanza's flagship products - a suite of software for web hosting automation and domain name registration.• Mastered Jakarta Struts while designing the MVC architecture for application to manage a multi-tiered web reseller-based system written in JEE technologies, deployed in WebLogic 6.1 on a Solaris server connected to a remote MySQL database. Utilized Eclipse IDE for all development, including the “Checkstyle” plugin to validate compliance with coding standards. Trained other team members in basic Struts knowledge and continued to act as mentor/reference throughout course of project.• Led team to design, develop and deploy brand management product for company’s domain registration unit. Used Java and JSP in an MVC architecture, deployed in Apache Tomcat/OpenJMS on a Linux system connected to a remote MySQL database.• Worked with team to develop a web application for remote management and automation of web-hosting tasks and system administration of client’s web servers.
