Earlier in his career, he worked in community development and economic regeneration roles for several London Borough Councils.Michael was born in London, England, and is a British national. Fluent in English and Mandarin, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Applied Economics from the University of East London and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Kent at Canterbury.From 2003, Michael spent nearly two decades living and working in China as the executive head of the technology transfer company Galliard Lockings Associates. His time in China allowed him to develop deep cultural insights and business acumen, forming invaluable connections across diverse sectors.
