Mike has been a licensed Private Investigator since 1981. Michael entered the PI profession by way of process serving. He personally served over forty-thousand documents, giving him “on-the-ground” training for skiptracing. From 1978 to 1982 he managed Marvin Givant Attorney Service in Los Angeles. In 1982 he opened Merlin Investigations, offering wholesale skiptracing to the attorney service industry. Nine years later he started Merlin Information Services, in Ojai, California. In 1991 he formed Merlin Information Services for the purpose of distributing public records on CD-ROM to collection agencies and investigators. This new access to low-cost data, searchable in ways never before possible, revolutionized how collection agencies and investigators did skiptracing. In 1994, Michael and his family relocated to the beautiful Flathead Valley in Northwest Montana, moving the business with them. In 1997, Merlin expanded to offering national databases on the Internet.Mike sold Merlin in July, 2012 and opened MDI Verify / Mike Dores Investigations in April 2013. MDI, much like Mike’s original investigation agency, specializes in high volume skiptracing and location of place of employment and bank accounts. He has personally conducted over 50,000 skiptrace assignments. In 2013, Mike opened MDI Verify, Inc. dba Mike Dores Investigations, a licensed investigation agency specializing in skiptracing, location of Place of Employment and asset location. In 2016, Mike changed the company dba to Merlin Locate Services.
