The template generation initially took roughly 2 days to run, but code optimization, query optimization, and some database changes resulted in the process now taking under 12 hours. The new application also grants the administrators more granular control over the template generation process. Previously, ALL templates had to be generated when the engine was kicked off. Now, this can be limited to only product categories selected by the administrator. One of this company’s main revenue sources is analysis of the data gathered via this application.

This interface allows for management and bulk import of products from Ecometry to SQL Server. ASP pages created entirely within the EADIN dll replace the hand-generated HTML templates. In addition to the standard product display built into the dll, options are also included to generate an XML recordset and display the products using a client-customized XSLT stylesheet. Migrated database from SQL Server 7.0 to 2000. Developed MS Office report templates and tools to auto-populate them with client-provided data files. Part-Time contract position.

Developed databases and reporting mechanisms for Linsco/Private Ledger Financial Services. This included database management and design of DTS packages, tables, stored procedures, SQL jobs, views, etc. in a SQL Server 2000 environment. Projects included data import/export to/from flat files, Excel, Access, XML, etc. via DTS, FTP, and Bulk Loads. Modified existing reports and generated new reports based upon user requests. Generated several reporting mechanisms to automate cash receipts uploads and reconciliation and to generate reporting information for Patriot Act and other federal compliance requirements. Built SQL backend and web-based front end (ASP .NET) for report and database documentation, management, and real-time monitoring of report job processes. This significantly improved the ease with which operations team could monitor reporting operations and new developers could quickly determine what report, excel/access/text/other file, DTS package, SQL Agent job, view, table, or stored procedure went with what report, as well as who developed it, who was responsible for it, and who were the current business users of the report. The system also made it easy to quickly determine what fields of what tables were being used by what reports and what fields/tables could be removed without impacting current report operations. This could be done via a one-page web interface whereas it previously required several hours/days of effort to research all reports and contact all developers who may have used the field/table/etc in question. Developed data generator portion of LPL Office Organizer (BranchNet/Message Center) application. Migrated over 100 reports to new server, upgraded them, and researched methods to optimize a handful of data processing applications.
