The Campus CIO serves as the lead information technology officer for WSU Vancouver collaborating with the university Chancellor, Academic and Administrative leaders, and other technology units within the WSU system by providing vision and leadership for the effective use of higher education technology to enhance the learning experience and research opportunities for WSU Vancouver students, faculty, and community. Responsibilities include to inform, guide, and lead development or implementation on policy level information technology issues such as selection and investment in technology choices, ethics, copyright, and compliance with software use agreements. In addition, Michael leads Information Technology with an emphasis on customer service in all areas of information systems, including development and maintenance of network and computing infrastructure, network and telecom services, videoconferencing, desktop (Windows & Apple) support, IT help desk support, computer labs, and additional IT needs at WSU Vancouver.The Information Technology department at WSU Vancouver consists of 18 employees plus over 20 student workers serving the campus with a full-range of technology services including academic, infrastructure, information security, and technical support. Michael also serves WSU Vancouver as co-chair of the WSU Vancouver Accessibility Council and member of the WSU CIO Council, WSU IT Strategic Advisory Council, and WSU ADA Committee.
