The Miracle League of San Diego is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with physical and mental disabilities to develop and achieve their full potential: mentally, socially and physically.We accomplish this through America’s favorite pastime — baseball, providing an opportunity for children with disabilities to play baseball as part of a team in an organized league.The benefits of participating in the Miracle League extend beyond the baseball field and impact everyone involved, including: players, parents, sponsors, coaches, buddies, volunteers and fans.Miracle League of San Diego hosts two baseball seasons every year – a Spring season that runs from March through May and a Fall Season that runs from September through November. Each season consists of eight games, with different teams playing each other every week. All games are played on Saturdays and each team has three coaches. Each player is also assigned a buddy who provides encouragement and assists with hitting the ball and rounding the bases. Every player scores a run each time they bat and every game ends in a tie : ) We serve over 350 children each year and have a player buddy (all volunteers who work directly with the children on a weekly basis) and volunteer base that exceeds 500.
