About Michael Duntz
Communication is paramount in spreading information about a specific topic. A good graphic designer understands how to meld pieces together for the end-user for better accessibility. Graphic designers need to stay abreast of industry design practices. Graphic design is my ultimate skill set. I taught myself graphic design and design software programs in high school while working for the yearbook staff. A month before I graduated high school, I interviewed for and earned a paid page designer position with the Tower yearbook at Northwest Missouri State University. I worked through college as a designer for the yearbook and then as the Advertising Department Manager for Northwest Student Media. Since college, I have garnered 10+ years of professional graphic design experience. I have worked on daily newspapers both in page layout and advertising. I have built special event publications such as Top 40 under 40, plus multiple Top Project magazines. Some of those event publications required event collateral. I have aided in the creation of yearbook covers. An animated mobile ad is the smallest digital piece I have created. The largest digital asset was a 40,000-pixel wrap-around animated banner displayed at an NCAA D1 Men’s basketball arena. I have built brand guidelines from scratch. Furthermore, I can extrapolate existing brand guidelines across a comprehensive advertising campaign. A brand guideline for me is the designer's bible. With that and established policy and procedures, there are no design problems I can not find a solution for. In April 2017, I completed my Graphic Design Specialist continuing education in-person training course earning the Adobe Design Essential Certificate from Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS. By completing these courses, the design instructors certified me in Adobe Creative Cloud including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat.I am currently seeking full-time employment.
