From the beginnings of my practice in architecture and my teaching at the Boston Architectural Center, I have focused on creative thinking as a disciplined and controlled approach to problem solving and design in the environment. This has led me into many related fields within the practice of architecture, including programming, economic analysis, real estate development, personnel management, construction administration, and legal consulting relative to construction. True creative thinking involves combining detailed analysis with conceptual (or lateral) thinking. Practicing this has led me into the fields of helping others as they approach problems and opportunities. I have successfully worked in detailed group decision making activities and projects varying from governmental facilities to religious institutions. Along the way, I have produced award winning designs which carefully and artfully have combined our history, our need for space, our relation to the environment, and the social settings of our lives.
