Michael is a founding partner of Verita International. At Verita, we believe the true purpose of education is to support our students to deeply appreciate the innate qualities they possess so that they are empowered to bring that essence to everything that they do. Today’s world is no longer defined by how many facts and figures one can hold in his or her head, children must learn how to learn — to adapt, collaborate, and gain perspective in a world that is increasingly interconnected.  Our theory of education at Verita demands both a rigorous and focused international core curriculum and the deeper wisdom that goes beyond traditional textbook-based education.Michael is also the founder and Executive Director of The Center for Mindful Education (www.MindfulEd.com), a non-profit that conducts research and develops mindfulness-based programs in partnership with UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. He is a co-founder of Operation Mindful Warrior (www.OperationMindfulWarrior.com), a non-profit in partnership with Community Partners which brings mindfulness practices to veterans struggling with PTSD, homelessness, and depression. He lives in Los Angeles with his four teenage children. He sits on the Boards of the 2e Center for Education and Professional Development, P.A.T.H. (People Assisting The Homeless), and Verita, a Romanian-based non-profit dedicated to helping bring mindfulness practices to Government, Education, and Hospitals throughout Europe and Eastern Europe.
