Woodworker - Engraver
This shop had many roles. There was an array of standard items produced on a regular basis always trying to keep up with customer demands. Orders were taken for employees to produce specialty furniture, cabinet, and display items. The highest priority was given to the "Do it Yourself" customer paying an hourly rate, utilizing shop tools and equipment, to build their own project.Responsibilities:• Repaired and maintained industrial woodworking equipment, power tools, and capital equipment• Provided unlimited assistance and knowledge, from 12 years of furniture and cabinetry experience, to "do-it-yourself" customers necessary to complete furniture projects above and beyond original expectations giving them the confidence and desire to take on more projects• Designed and produced manufacturing drawings with Auto Cad, building custom furniture from domestic and exotic hardwoods meeting customer expectations• Trained DIY users and Employees to operate industrial woodworking equipment safely and effectively for intended operations, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment• Received, processed, and tracked customer orders, assigning work orders ensuring quality and delivery specifications resulting in customer satisfaction• Laser engraved wood, acrylic, leather and glass, including cylindrical objects in a specialty attachment, driven by images created and prepared in Corel Draw• Procured expendables, consumables, new equipment, and repair parts• Filled manager role in his absence after being employed for less than two years
