Manager (Tech Lead)
Current
Database Administrator & Gis Lead, Project For Agriculture Coordination & Execution Secretariat, Ovp
As Database Administrator and GIS lead, I design, implement and administer multiple database management systems and Data processing workflows to support the PACE projects and operations. I currently lead the design and development of a National Agricultural Assets database and electronic farmer directory to facilitate the implementation of three of the Federal Government of Nigeria's (FGN) Agricultural transformation programs viz: the National Livestock Transformation Plan (NLTP) – an initiative of the FGN to foster peaceful co-existence between farmers and herders (and curb farmer-herder clashes) through the introduction of modern ranching models, the Green Imperative (GI) - a partnership with Brazil to improve access to the knowledge and use of modern mechanized farming equipment in Nigeria through the establishment of service centers and assembly plants across States of Nigeria, and the Agriculture for Food and Jobs Plan (AFJP) - which in line with the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan (NESP) is designed to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on smallholder farmers and the entire agricultural value chain through the provision of input financing, extension services and subsidies to farmers to boost local food production. Over 6 million farmers have been enumerated so far along with the geospatial locations, shapes, and sizes of their farms across the 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT, with the data being processed (cleaned, validated, standardized) and integrated into the database.
