I am a dual-qualified pharmacist and barrister in Ireland, balancing my time between the pharmaceutical industry and legal practice.As the owner of two pharmacies in Fermoy, Co. Cork, my primary focus is on providing top-quality healthcare services to our community. This role allows me to stay connected with people's everyday health needs while managing a business that is integral to our local area.In addition to my pharmaceutical responsibilities, I maintain an active involvement in the legal and regulatory aspects of my profession. I had the honour of serving as Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) from 2019 to 2021. This role gave me valuable insights into the broader challenges and opportunities within our profession, and I am grateful for the experiences it brought.My legal expertise is further utilised in my role as an expert witness for the state in criminal matters, particularly those involving drug intoxication. This responsibility is one I take very seriously, as it merges my pharmaceutical knowledge with the pursuit of justice.Currently, I am a member of the health committee at the PSI, contributing to one of the key committees of inquiry. I also have the privilege of being a performance assessor at the Medical Council, where I help ensure the high standards of medical practice are upheld.These various roles reflect my commitment to continuous professional development and my desire to contribute positively to both the pharmaceutical and legal fields.
