As an Event AV Technician, my primary role is to support operations of Broadcast Technology and Services department for Amway Center venue events. Providing AV support of events/meetings at Amway Center including but not limited to Orlando Magic and Solar Bears Hockey games, concerts, and other Orlando City Venues corporate/hospitality engagements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-Setup and strike all sizes of event setups including areas in Audio, Video/Projection, Lighting, NBA Tissot Scoring System, Precision Time, Clear-Com/Riedel Communications and Daktronics LED equipment.-Operate small audio consoles and associated outboard gear from 4 to 48 channels. Experience with digital consoles, Yamaha Digital Consoles, O1V.-Execute small and large corporate conference setups throughout the venue.-Provide technical support to various Orlando Magic game-day departments on event and non-event days.-Operate arena Creston control systems.-Assemble and operate portable audio systems.-Manage and maintain source control devices and custom control systems.-Manage cable installation & terminate a wide range of audiovisual and data connectors.-Build equipment racks and dress all cabling in a professional manner.-Perform light maintenance / repair and work with vendors as required and reporting any equipment failure.

In my opinion, this was the gig where rock concert met theatre. While there, it was my job to troubleshoot and maintain all video elements such as projection, LED walls, and ptz camera. Performed assigned show cues as well as operate handheld camera during show performances. This was a great experience for me. I got the opportunity of a lifetime that provided me an in depth view of the theatrical aspect of the industry.

This experience for me was quite the challenge being that it was a little bit out of my comfort zone. I had to shift mentally from being behind the scenes in the tech world and become the face of the firm in the aspect of building new client/prospect relationships. It was my job to work alongside the company manager to facilitate the marketing of his branding packages which included: website design and development, email, social media, and print campaigns, and search engine optimization. Being involved from the proposal phase through the design/execution, presentation, final delivery and follow up while ensuring quality and creativity in each project proved to be a tedious yet rewarding experience. I definitely enjoyed helping out in this business venture and look forward to the opportunity of doing similar work in the future.

While at WESH 2 News, my duties included floor directing, live audio mixing, and operation of studio broadcast cameras via Vinten Robotic System. I also operated handheld and jib as needed for special events such as Share Your Christmas, Elections, and The O-Zone.
