CurrentMike Thies is uniquely qualified to appraise antique, classic, sports cars and modified vehicles throughout Georgia and the Southeast US. He has been a “Car Guy” since he was a very young child, working with his brother on their first car, a Model A Ford Pickup at age 12 years! As a hobbyist and collector, he has experience in restoring and refurbishing various vehicles, including cars, boats, and RVs.Much of his car hobby efforts has gone into charity car shows; organizing and judging events. He started a number of “Wheels Events” calendars and networks online to help develop and promote classic and collector car events and exhibits. He has written articles for several magazines and continues an online Internet Blog on a vast variety of automotive issues.His current project cars are a Porsche 356B Cabriolet, a 1979 Porsche 911SC Targa, a 1997 Corvette 6-speed, and a 1985 Mercedes-Benz 350D. He is also assisting in the rebuilding of a Model A Ford sedan. His previous collection has included an early Mark I Triumph Spitfire, a number of MGs including a 1967 MGB GT Special, 1960 Ford Sunliner, 1930 Model A Tudor Sedan, a 1964 Porsche 356C, a 1987 Porsche 911 Cabriolet, a variety of water cooled Porsche, three Corvettes and a couple hot rods.Certified Appraiser with the International Vehicle Appraisers Network (nationwide association)Appraisals accepted by insurance companies, banks, courts of law (expert witness, etc), IRS, etc.Judge for the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA).
