About Michael Timmons

Entrepreneur, Innovator and Team LeaderAs an Entrepreneur I co-founded Onepage.com, one of the first 'ultra-personalization' sites on the web. OnePage started well and was successfully sold to Sybase when business for new technology dried up after the 911 Attack. My Entrepreneur skills were also used at Sybase to identify and perform due diligence on companies that would add revenue, technology or new customers. A number of companies were acquired and became the core technology of Sybase365.As Innovator I have submitted 20 patent applications with 13 being awarded. (The remaining 7 patents are currently waiting for examiner review at the Patent Trademark Office,) The ranges of patents span many areas from 'feature identification' type of classification problems, to message routing, mobile device applications, and mobile payments. My love of problem solving and technology has made working on each of these solutions something to look forward to each day.As Team Leader at SAP I was able to build a worldwide team. From the East and West coast of the United States, to England, Germany, Singapore, and Bangalore. I was able to justify the dispersion of the team by showing that each individual on the team was a 'world class' developer and point to our combined productivity and creativity. I keep my teams small and talk to as many people as I can in a day.

  • Mergepoint Software
    Founder Ceo
Mergepoint Software Nov 2013 - Present
    San Jose, California
Still in the very early startup phase --John R. Boyd, a fighter pilot from the Korean war era, redefined modern warfare by showing how thespeed at which decisions are made can predict success or failure in a competitive race. If you canmake decisions faster than the competition the odds of success are more in your favor. The foundation of MergePoint is its “FirstTran” technology designed to identify the first transit of atrend or cycle change in a large data time series. This analysis is done in real time to give thedecision maker a competitive advantage over an opponent or natural events. FirstTran technologysearches time series in several time frames and markets looking for the right combination of dataneeded to identify the First Transit of a trend change. FirstTran builds a real time 'cognitive map'of the problem in 3 dimensions. “FirstTran” can be used to search a data time series to identify thefirst transit of an earthquake tremor, online payment fraud, product quality analysis, network workflows, and many applications in medicine.

Small companies could open the Sonnet web page and be guaranteed the best exchange rate at a very low transaction cost. My role was to extend the Foreign Exchange trading service to the web, improve web based security, and improve the FX trading order entry system. A lot of innovations from a very small company in a very large market.
