As a support worker I work in the community supporting clients to live independently. As an organisation we adopt a person centred approach to support, involving the client in identifying their own goals that they would like to work toward. We focus on tenancy related issues and social inclusion, promoting the independence of our clients. My counselling training has really helped me work effectivly in this role, offering empathy and helping me to build enduring relationships with my clients.

I completed my counselling training while on placement at The Market Place (TMP) I am now a paid member of the counselling team. I have worked with a wide variety of clients aged between 12 and 24 while working at this charity.
