Village Roadshow is one of Australia's largest premium entertainment, hospitality and accommodation providers, spanning Theme Parks, Cinemas, Hotels, Bars, Restaurants and Retail.As Chief Transformation Officer for Village Roadshow, Michael led the transition from public company to Private Equity ownership, re-architecting the organisation for a digital future and completely overhauling physical and technology operations throughout the country. This included a rebuild of network and infrastructure, migration of core services to Cloud, and a complete Cyber uplift. Business transformation included a hospitality refresh, a pivot to focus on VIP and Premium experiences, pricing overhaul, menu update and move to a decentralised model to better serve our customers. Operating rhythm, strategy and governance were all rebuilt as part of the transformation

Led the IT, Technology and Data Analytics functions for the Kmart Group - a $10bn retailer consisting of the Kmart, Target and Catch brands in Australia. Kmart is part of Wesfarmers, a US$70bn retail group. As CTO Michael led the IT, Advanced Analytics, Engineering, Data and Product Management teams supporting 50,000 employees in 500+ stores delivering more than ten million customer interactions every week and selling one billion units each year. Led Kmart and Target to 100% certified in AWS Cloud, and migrated from Mainframe to Cloud fully remotely (i.e. during covid lockdown) - both world-firsts. Michael was named a Top 50 CIO by CIO.com in 2020 and 2021, and three of his team have subsequently made the list.

Led a $700m programme to develop, improve and execute a new and improved store format across 100% of Kmart stores, delivering more than $250m in savings. In 2018 Michael assumed leadership of the Online/Digital commerce function, doubling sales in less than 12 months.Responsible for a wide variety of functions including Store Design, Store Development, Store Planning, and Facilities Management for all Stores and Warehouses. Merchandise portfolios include Space and Category Management. Creative portfolios include Product Packaging and Strategy, Visual Merchandising Strategy & Execution, and a business improvement function focused on innovation.

Director of sourcing and head of operations for Asia.Managed a complex change programme to shift sourcing from local importers to direct sourcing model through compelling value propositions and confirmed margin growth. 600% growth in revenue achieved to build a $1bn business, and a 50% decrease in costs.

Michael was a global management consultant at Accenture, leading several $100m business transformation programmes in Financial Services, Telecommunications and Retail. Specialising in architecting and delivering high performance in operational efficiency and building global teams. Michael led projects in several continents. He also delivered training and continuous professional education to 1,000 of Accenture's consultants worldwide in management, leadership, technology and change management.
