Insurance Coverage – Michael has substantial experience in litigating coverage disputes involving a variety of insurance policies, including D&O, E&O, Public Officials and Employment Liability, fiduciary liability, commercial, property and casualty, theft, premises liability, professional liability, travel and other policies insuring risks facing individuals, corporations and government sector insureds. Michael has engaged in insurance dispute resolutions over a host of policy terms and conditions, exclusions, sub-limits and other policy limitations. Michael has in-depth knowledge of New Jersey’s laws, statutes and regulations relating to the duty to defend, claims handling, claims discovery, policy form approval and regulation, bad faith, New Jersey’s Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act and other coverage issues. The Firm works with companies, public agencies and high net-worth individuals to review their insurance needs before a problem can arise, to ensure that proper coverage is in place.Representation of Public Entities in Insurance Disputes - Michael has been retained as special counsel representing public entities in insurance matters involving public officials and employment liability policies, commercial general liability and environmental coverage policies. Michael has extensive knowledge of the insurance programs offered by New Jersey’s Municipal Excess Liability Joint Insurance Fund (“MEL”) and the Plan of Risk Management of the Joint Insurance Funds, as well as the commercial markets that service public entities.
