Over the years, I've bounced from Chemical Engineering to Data Science to DevOps roles with quite a bit of variation in between. The common theme? I love to use cutting edge technology to build elegant systems that solve complex problems. One of my favorite things about working in the Cloud Innovation Group at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is that I don’t ever really have a job title that aligns well with my work. Instead of cornering myself into one job function or skillset, my role is simply to get stuff done. That often means picking up new skills on the fly, exploring alternative solutions, or identifying and recruiting experts to fill gaps in a project team. Most days you will find me designing cloud-native solutions (and obsessing over my architecture diagrams), writing (or refactoring) code for backend services and data pipelines, or managing (fighting with) CI/CD jobs to get our applications deployed and into the hands of the many brilliant scientists I get to work with every day. That or you’ll find me poking around town for the best new ice cream spots. If any of that sounds like work you’re interested in, drop me a LinkedIn message or an email! I love to talk about all of these technologies and practices (or ice cream) and am always open to collaboration, contract work, or any sort of shared learning.
