Took the lead on our technology solution for outsourcing the internal meter reading function to an external provider. This required substantial upgrades to the built in meter reading module in Gentrack to support a new input formats but also new timings, processes and validation criteria. We achieved the transition and the technology was functional.

I assisted the IT team with rolling out their Windows 7 upgrade across the business. Mostly this involved installing software on one big pile of laptops and running hardware wiping software on the other pile. Never did I ever mix the two up either. I also swapped in SSDs to each as it passed through my station and helped users with starting up and getting.

Glenbrook Steel Mill

Contracted to NZ Steel at Glenbrook as part of my mechanical engineering work experience.I collected data for updating the gas and liquid pipeline diagrams at the Glenbrook steel mill. This involved interpreting decades old - and out of date in some cases - plant schematics and then following each from start to end on foot or vehicle. Many were up high.
